In the third quarter, our goals are to continue bonding with the grade 9 students, establish some new goals for second semester success, encourage students to use all resources available for being successful at Foothill!, and to arrange for targeted intervention for struggling students





Tuesday, January 31
SYNOPSIS

FIRE - No Travel

Review Calendar & Prepare for semester 2

Tuesday, 1/31 - Semester 2 Begins
Thursday, 2/2 - Lunchtime meeting for those interested in DTech as a junior
February 3-10 - Notifications about special program/course selection
Monday, 2/13 - No school
Monday, 2/20 - No school
Friday, 2/24 - Dance at FTHS (more info as it is known)

DETAILS
  • Sit together in FIRE zone
  • Put phones away
  • Take attendance
  • Review of calendar
  • Sharing - Brainstorm on whiteboard
    • What went well for you in semester 1? Academics? Social? Athletics? Hobbies?
    • What did you do to help yourself to be successful?
    • What do you do want to improve? 
    • What can you begin or continue to do to increase your success?
  • Use FTHS agendas to begin planning how to spend the advisory this week

Wednesday, February 1

Connect with one another, school work or travel as needed

DETAILS
  • Sit together in FIRE zone
  • Put phones away
  • Take attendance
  • Agendas out and ready to write/share plan for the week
  • Set up for in-room work or sign out for appropriate travel
    • Students should have a written goal for traveling
    • This is a "why I need to travel" statement
  • Leader(s) sit with students and connect/work alongside
    • Once everyone is set, leader should check on travelers

  • Get out the Legos and let them build and chat
  • Put "freshdragon" on white board and come up with words/character traits for each letter
    • Something similar with student names

  • If you have paper plates, you could do the drawing on the top of the head (similar to baby shower game)
